Benjamin's Cake

One afternoon while we were all hanging out at mom and dad’s, Benjamin came in wearing the apron mom made him for Christmas. He kept saying he was going to “bake a cake.” So mom, being the amazing “Grammy” that she is, said, “let’s bake a cake!” They went in the kitchen where Julie, Gabriel and Millie joined the fun. They were so cute, and were having such a great time!
When the cake was finished, mom cut the cake, and Benjamin wanted to deliver each piece to us. He would do great, until right when he was going to hand it over, and then he would drop it on the ground. Without batting an eye, he reached down with his chubby little fingers and plop that cake right back on the plate and hand it over. With every piece he delivered he would say, “Happy Birthday!” and “warm,” warning the piece was still kind of hot. Seriously, about the CUTEST thing I’ve ever seen.

When everyone was served, Benjamin wanted us to sing “Happy Birthday” to him. The amazing Grammy even put a candle in his piece so he could blow it out. He LOVES singing “Happy Birthday,” and at the end he always shouts, “BLOW IT OUT!” Love, love, love that kid.
