Sad to say, our garden has not produced much. Much that is, except cucumbers. Lots of cucumbers. Texas sized cucumbers!! We have had lots of cucumber and tomato salads this summer, and have enjoyed being able to pick a cucumber and then serve it for dinner just moments later.
The cucumbers have been so big, and we've had so many, we had to try our hand at pickling. We made a "Claussen-like" recipe, and they are really yummy!! We had two regular sized jars and one huge jar of pickles, from only 2 cucumbers!! That's how big they were!! We brought a jar to Jacksonville, and have been enjoying them on sandwiches.
It was a fun venture, but I'm not sure if we're the "farming" type. We might have to take some classes before we decide on next year's gardening adventures. For now, I'm going to stick with the farmer's market.
