Cammi’s First Baylor Game!

Jason and I went to our first Baylor Game together for Homecoming. And boy was it eventful!! As we drove to Waco, we saw the clouds begin to gather. The weather held off though…for the first 8 minutes. The announcers then insisted everyone evacuate the bleachers because of lightning, so we joined the herd and headed downstairs. The clouds looked vicious, but it wasn’t raining, so we stayed just outside of the tunnel. It was packed inside, and I didn’t want to be crammed in with that many people.

After about 20 minutes, we watched as the rain rolled our way, and then pummeled us with the strongest rain shower I’ve been in, in a long time. The rain was coming in sideways, so while we all tried to push ourselves as far inside the stadium as we could, we were still getting drenched. The shower soon stopped, and we waited for the game to be resumed. We waited and waited. And while we waited, the cold settled in. Since we were headed to Belton after the game, Jason and I had some extra clothes in the car. We changed into some dry clothes (yes, in the car!), and tried to bundle up as best we could. We sat in the car and listened to the announcers on the radio, waiting for things to get going again. The game finally started, and we were able to watch the first half before we had to head to Belton. Not the best day for football, but a great day for a memory!!
